Link: A .NET Core Social Network Site (v4.5)

Introduction

Today, our society is becoming increasingly interconnected through social networks. The use of social media is expanding rapidly, encompassing everything from casual socializing among friends to deep engagement within companies and institutions. Social media serves as a potent tool for user engagement, service evaluation, and understanding user needs. Many companies utilize social media platforms to gather customer feedback and suggestions, thereby enhancing their products and services. Moreover, social media facilitates communication and collaboration among geographically dispersed employees.

While public social media platforms like Facebook, Google, and Twitter dominate user engagement, privacy concerns persist. These platforms wield immense power, often surpassing that of governments, as they amass vast amounts of personal data, including preferences, conversations, and connections.

Link is a social network designed to foster collaboration and communication among various groups. It enables users to interact, share information, and exchange ideas, much like a virtual neighborhood subdivision. Link caters to diverse communities such as schools, universities, governmental and non-governmental institutions, providing features like posting, commenting, real-time chat, voting, user profiles, and focus groups.

Built with Microsoft’s modern technology stack, Link leverages ASP.NET Core, a versatile, open-source web framework optimized for cloud deployment. Link is bundled with full source code, allowing for customization and serving as a robust starting point for projects.
